Our Youth Ministry is divided into four groups: 0 to 5 years, Kindergarten through 5th grade, 6th-8th grade (Junior High), and 9th-12th grade (Senior High). Some events are for all the age groups, and some are for only selected groups. But every child has many opportunities to be together with children their age on a consistent basis.
There is so much in our world that seeks to bring our young people down, and to pull them away from the Lord. Our youth program here at Meridianville seeks to bring young people closer to the Lord, and closer to each other.
There are four main ways we accomplish this: worship, education, service, and fellowship.
Challenge Youth Conference
Lads 2 Leaders
Big Summer Trip (The Ark for example)
Monday Night Singings
TWIGS (Talented Women in Gods Service)
Area Wide Devotionals
Besides the regular weekly worship services, our young people meet regularly outside of the main assembly to worship together. Devotionals are held in various places, from living rooms to back yards to forests. Through prayer and praise we come before our Heavenly Father.
“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
The Lord has said that His religion is a religion that is taught. We know we must teach each generation those spiritual truths that they must base their lives on. This teaching is done in weekly Bible classes (on Sunday and Wednesday), in devotionals (held three times per month), at multiple weeks of Bible camp, and in special youth events (i.e. Challenge Youth Conference, Exposure Youth Camp, Evangelism University, etc.).
“And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.”
Each month we undertake at least one service project to serve others. We serve locally, and elsewhere. We serve those who are Christians, and those who aren’t. We do our best to teach the young people that the greatest path to walk in life is the path of service; that they will never be closer to God than when they are serving His children.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 15:58
Our young people love spending time with each other. If it is before or after worship services, at a local sporting event, or on a trip, our young people love to be together and enjoy each others company. And not only do we focus on fellowshipping with other Christian young people, but we fellowship with the body of Christ as a whole.
We understand that the youth program is not a “church within a church”, but is part of the overall body of Christ. Thus our youth program is fully integrated into the body of Christ here at Meridianville.
“For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.”
1 Corinthians 12:12-13
